Some of the best b-sides ever!
As an Ash fan, I collect cd singles for the b-sides. Tim Wheeler is typically flawless in style, shelling out perfect song after perfect song. He did it in the past with the Oh Yeah and A Life Less Ordinary CD singles, and he does it again with the Wild Surf set (1 of 2).
The songs typically on this set are Wild Surf (album version), Stormy Waters, and When I'm Tired. Stormy Waters is a nice ballad, reminiscient of a very slow Angel Intercepter. The guitar is especially effective in this song, repeating itself for the lines without distortion or feedback. It adds to down beat depressing atmosphere of the song. When I'm Tired is a fast break-up song, reminiscient of Kung Fu and A Life Less Ordinary both in its catchy melody and sing- alongability. I'd rate it... Read full review »
