Empire's first placing in the UK singles chart is number 9, based on the download and CD sales (10" vinyl and DVD formats are released on August 21st).

Download from iTunes, Napster and other services, and claim a free poster with your CD when buying from here.

You can find the band in various press this week, including The Fly (cover), Arena (feature) and Uncut (lead album review, out Thursday). They'll also be on TV on Friday (August 4th) on the Transmission show (recorded in Belfast), on Channel 4 at 11.30pm.

Kasabian played a full live set for Zane Lowe's show on Radio 1 last week (July 26th).

You can listen back to the performance at the Radio 1 website - you need to skip around an hour into the show to get to the Kasabian set. They've got several pictures from the night, and if you were there, there's a chance you'll appear in NME's 'Weeks In Pictures' section this week...

A selection of Kasabian MySpace profile skins are now available in the Empire section of the site. These provide code which you can paste into the 'About Me' section of your profile, to make it look a bit like Kasabian's page.

Finally, the Brixton Academy show on August 15th has now sold out.
