A Great Comeback Single with a wonderful B-side...
Quote

The Hindu Times was a great comeback single for Oasis - it's rocky, it's catchy, it's gritty, it has a great vocal, a great riff, and great lyrics.

Just Getting Older has been knocking around the internet in demo form for years, and it's nice for it to finally get an airing. It is a lovely acoustic song; hardly rock 'n' roll, but inherently Noel Gallagher nonetheless.

But it is Idler's Dream that is why this single is wort...  Read full review »

Great B-side, shame about the A-side.......

Eager anticipation will always surround an Oasis comeback single, adding additional pressure for the band to produce something that will not offend it's core fanbase. I've been a rock on Oasis fan since the days before they were signed and appearing on 'The Word', but I'm not gonna be seen/pressured into a false bias just because it's Oasis. The Hindu Times just doesn't do it for me. I thought to myself, ok, give it a few listens, I did but I still think this song is crap to be blunt. And as a fan, I'm just being honest.

I can't believe the other reviews about it, when someone talks about Noel's lead solo really kicking in....C'MON if you think that's a solo I really do have pity for you're musical influences. People like Hendrix, Page, BBK King, Clapton, The Edge, Kirk Hammett, Slash, SRV, Squi...  Read full review »

I'm going to be very unpopular !!

Hindu times meets "same size feet"(stereophonics)i have read the other reviews and must disagree with everything they say apart from the "idler's dream" comments definitely a classic but as for hindu times this is total rubbish and yet again the commercial side of oasi...  Read full review »
